Welcome to Capernaum, the ministry center of Jesus. Today, we sit just outside the ancient city of Capernaum along to quiet shoreline of the Sea of Galilee. Most pilgrim sites are so busy that this quiet time is a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle.  

As we sit alongside the shore of the Sea of Galilee outside Capernaum, we reflect on a powerful story that took place right here. 

This is the place where Jesus had an encounter with Peter that forever changed his life and turned him into one of the greatest witnesses the world has seen.

Yet, this is not how Peter started out.  He carried many burdens and attitudes that stood contrary to the Gospel. Yet, God came to HIm and showed HIm grace, forgiveness, and a whole new identity.
